Solutions for Online Learning Challenges (Kids, Teens & Young adults)

Hello Folks,  I did put forth the challenges in my previous post and this one comes with what is the need of the hour to overcome those challenges.

According to me, there are few pointers which need to be followed meticulously.
Its Parent's time to take it up and rather seriously

Spend time with your kids talking about:
1) What Computer is?
2) Hardware that makes a computer and the uses of each component (broadly)
3) OS and its role in computing
4) Input devices and their functions
5) Output devices and their functions
6) How to use a Mouse and various operations that a mouse can perform
7) Keyboard and its operations
8) Organizing folders
9) File Handling
10) Shut down operations

Keep it simple, and quote relevant examples. My favorite example of an input-output scenario is the vending machine that serves consumers with different items. Item code and Money are taken as an input and the relevant item is dispensed as an output.

We all know that kids love stories and  I suggest the parent ought to have a solid story to tell as and when necessary.
Another important point here is to give children a task for every topic that you have taught. Make them work on their own, the output is really important.

let them take their sweet time, and in no time they will master the art of computing.

Please do remember, the more speed your child picks up using a computer, the lesser is the screen viewing time.
Our target is to reduce the Screen viewing and Bingo!!! That's what a Russian pilot says after a fighter jet somersaults successfully !!!

Online Learning - A Challenge for Kids, Teens & Young adults

Students (school going /college going/ undergrads/postgrads) are now forced to take up academics online (Because of the Pandemic that is shaking the world). The mode of teaching online is unprecedented. To adjust to this new digital environment, a student has to go through a lot of challenges. The challenges include acquiring in-depth knowledge in computer operations, working on editors, troubleshoot, screen viewing time, and more. All these challenges will not only add stress mentally but also physically.
Let alone the learning process, we have to wait for the examination processes and the Project submissions.
I would visualize that students will undergo tremendous stress to learn computer operations. I was talking to a few students who attended my first workshop. and was surprised to know that most of them cannot operate without adult supervision.

out of a lot of questions that I asked my workshop participants (class 5th to BTech & BDS) - one question that still lingers on my mind "what do you do when the screen gets frozen?" and to my surprise, everyone ( 20 participants) replied that they will either shut down or restart the PC/Laptop. My thought process was, in fact, correct regarding the students that they will end up doing the same work on and on (as in the above scenario where the entire work they did will be lost on a forced PC restart).

I feel that students might not be 100% ready to learn academics on a digital platform. Students might find it difficult to operate, organize, and efficiently work on a computer. The series of workshops that I intend to conduct will help them to work on a computer with ease and also increase the speed in operating the applications.

I strongly believe if a student picks up operational Speed and gains knowledge of different applications, the after-effects would not only reduce the screen viewing time but also minimizes stress. Thereby allowing your child to focus on gaining knowledge at every learning stage.

We used to complain about the content of each subject that was imposed in schools, now the digital stress will only double it up. As a parent, are we ready to support our kids and make them digitally ready?

Water: Essence of Life

In a country of Ganges, Krishna and Godavari talking about water in itself made us realise that it is like wastage of time as the nation is already having it in abundance. Though the water is the fundamental human need but sometimes abundance begets more carelessness and as a result the time has come to ponder upon it minutely.

Hyderabad is one of the busiest cities in India and with the rise in density of population it is very obvious to have stretch on the existing available resources.  The recent study of water samples collected from various cities by Department of Consumer Affairs has raised a question mark over the portability of existing water that is being available for the society.

Waterborne diseases are not new to us and our country has already witnessed so many epidemics in the past. Even it has led to exodus also that had jolted the nation. It is surely the responsibility of the governing body to make available portable water for all that fits as per IS 10500:2012. But one thing is to be pointed out here that the healthy lifestyle is not only the responsibility of the government. It is also our duty to take care of ourselves and our family. There are many steps that has already been communicated by concerned agencies that would assist in the drive started by GOI to ensure safe water being mentioned below for consideration-

1. Boiling of water

This is the easiest to make water fit for our family. But it is must to filter the warm water to remove any solid particles if it exists in the water.

2. Using Iodine Solution, Tablets or Crystals

This method is one of the effective and convenient methods to make existing water fit for use. However it is recommended to use water only after thirty minutes. The iodine is effective in killing viruses and bacteria. But here we have a catch here as the same can't be provided to pregnant women.

3. Chlorine Droplets

The droplets are effective in killing bacteria. But the waiting time after pouring chlorine drops is 30 minutes for usage. The no. of drops to be poured carefully as the excess quantity may turn water into poison.

4. Ultraviolet Rays

It's like a small flashlight that can swish around water for a few minutes and may kill bacteria. It is also required to filter solid particles after UV treatment before usage.

All of the methods can be adopted by different families as per the condition of the water available in their nearby vicinity. But it is required to have test report of water then accordingly treatment can be adapted. But in this technologically advance era, the water purifiers are available with inbuilt technology that can convert polluted water to potable. One of the leading companies in India is Kent RO which provides all ranges of products that can solve the problem for all classes of society.

Kent has been in water solutions for years and with the passage of years the trust of consumers has risen like anything. Solution is available for drinking water, for softening hard water used for washing machine, geysers, for cleaning fruits and vegetables and more.
